The culture everyone grows and grows together
When facing organizational development and change, organizations often need a new shared ‘vision’ to provide a direction and meaning for the team and the appropriate ‘strategy’ to focus resources effectively.
However, in comparison to visible and well-defined visions and strategies, ‘culture’ is more like an undercurrent, not easily seen or narrated. It acts as a catalyst when it flows smoothly, allowing the organization to perform at its best even in adverse situations.
However, when there’s an undercurrent, culture can devour the strategy for breakfast. Different organizations and teams have their own unique cultures, but at the core, there’s a fundamental essence that’s similar to the concept of ‘transparency with love.’
In my memory, regardless of the specific team’s needs, whether it’s innovation, tradition, culture, leadership, brand transformation, or any other issue, the crucial point always revolves around a group of people (sometimes just two individuals) being able to communicate effectively.
‘Transparency with love’ is like an adverb in a team, similar to a state of ‘being.’ It’s particularly essential when teams need to address issues that they are not comfortable with. Team members need ‘transparency with love,’ which is about the willingness to reveal, the willingness to support one another, and the willingness to engage in discussions on assumptions and perspectives to create a learning environment and breakthroughs.
Ultimately, it’s about creating a culture in the team where ‘everyone grows, and the team grows together.
